The Bergerettes Trio came into being in 2001 and immediately in the first year of its activity the group won the 1st prize and the special prize in the Competition of Bohuslav Martinu. In 2002 the Bergerettes Trio broke through among 25 best piano trios from the whole world in the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. The Bergerettes Trio performs at international music festivals, has presented at the concert cycle of The Czech Chamber Music Society, has recorded for the Czech Radio.

The Bergerettes Trio is called after the famous work by Bohuslav Martinu. It was Dr. Harry Halbreich, the foremost Belgian musicologist and the author of the Bohuslav Martinu´s works catalogue, who came with the name after the group won the Competition of Bohuslav Martinu.

The repertoire of the Bergerettes Trio includes the most significant works of the piano trio literature with the accent on the Czech
19th, 20th and 21st century music (complete B. Martinu, L. Sluka, M. Slavicky, contemporary Norwegian composer L. Thoresen etc.).

 

 

Barbora Kristofova Sejakova studied at the Prague Conservatory and at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Prague (E. Leichner), at the Hochschule der Kunste Berlin (L. Simon) and Universitat Mozarteum Salzburg (H. Leygraf). She has cooperated with many important pianists and piano teachers (N. Akopian, J. Banowetz, L. Berman, E. Indjic, A. Kouyoumdjian, A. Queffelec etc.) and won a number of prizes in piano competitions (Czech - Japanese Competition 1996 - 1st prize, Competition of Bohuslav Martinu 1999 - 1st prize, the International Piano Competition of Ignacy Jan Paderewski 2001 - 3rd prize, etc.). She got the prize for the best stage of compositions by Bohuslav Martinu in five different competitions. Barbora gives concerts in the Czech Republic as well as abroad, performs at international music festivals (The Prague Spring Festival, Festival de Bourgogne, European Piano Forum, Concentus Moraviae, The Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland etc.) and makes recordings for the Czech Radio and Czech TV. 

 

Daniela Oerterova studied at the Prague Conservatory (J. Foltyn) and at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Prague (I. Straus). She participated successfully in many competitions: Concertino Praga (1st Prize), The International Violin Competition of J. Kocian (3rd Prize), Competition of Bohuslav Martinu (1st Prize). She participated in many masterclasses (S. Shipps, A. Cardenes, U. Hoelscher, E. Borok, Z. Zeitlin, I. Kaler, R. Ricci). In 2002 and 2003 she gave concerts in the U.S.A. as a chamber music player together with Pinchas Zuckerman and Ulf Hoelscher. 2008-2014 she was a member of renowned Skampa Quartett and gave concerts for example in the Wigmore Hall in London, Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Dvorak Hall in Prague. Daniela makes recordings for the Czech Radio and Czech TV. She plays on the master instrument Samuel Nemessanyi 1868.


Tomas Strasil studied at the Prague Conservatory with P. Sadlo and at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Prague with R. Lojda. He participated in different master classes (A. Ariscuren, M. Roche, P. Wiespelway, A. May, F. Smetana, E. Rattay and J. Chuchro). He got a laureate title at the Beethoven Competition in Hradec and he was finalist at the Prix Mercury - Semmering Competition 1994. In 1994 - 2000, Tomas played as a concert master in the Suk Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist he
has cooperated with a number of orchestras (Brucknerorchester Linz, North Bohemian Philharmonic of Teplice, Philharmonic of Hradec Kralove, Musici di Praga). He makes recordings for Czech Radio and has produced a number of solo and chamber music CDs. Tomas plays on the master instrument Pietro Zanetto di Brescia 1686.
